I am a British artist who specialises in intricate watercolour fine art, which is inspired by my love of animals and nature.
This love of the outdoors was undoubtably bought about by my parents, who would always take me on adventures in the country and down the south coast. On these excursions we would always come across wildlife, whether is be big or small, and naturally I grew to love and admire the natural world.
However, it's no secret that our wildlife is currently under threat from our own human activity and that there is an urgent need for us to adapt in order to protect our environment. Because of this, I think it's important to highlight how beautiful the animals that we share our world with are, so that people realise how devastating it would be for them all to disappear. .
So, over the last few years I've been capturing animals and insects in watercolour and turning them into limited edition prints, recycled stationary and and environmentally friendly homewares so people can bring their appreciation of the outdoors into their home.
My love of nature has not only inspired me to create art, but also to support animal shelters and rescue charities in need. To date, I have supported charities such as Street Vets and the Red Foundation, in order to help them care for abandoned animals under their protection.
I'm always willing to help animals in need so if you are a charity needing prizes for events and raffles, or know of a charity needing support, please feel free to get in touch using my contact form below.
Slowing It Down
Other artists sometimes ask me what watercolour techniques I use for my paintings and in all honesty, I don't really know any!
If there's one thing I've learnt from painting over the years is that creativity is about breaking rules - not following them, and by experimenting and painting in your own way you will find a style that works best for you.
By doing this I found out that I'm a bit of a perfectionist and really enjoy capturing the beautiful details of the animals I paint.
I struggle to paint subjects in the beautiful washy styles of other watercolour artists, but have found I can capture detail with a medium that is notoriously difficult to control.
To best try and capture this in action, here is the 6 hour painting of my Peregrine Falcon captured in 52 seconds of video.
Wildlife Inspired Gifts
All giftware is designed with my own watercolour artworks and have been designed by myself and made within the UK.
I source my products and packaging with the environment, that I am so greatly inspired by, in mind.
Pets are our pride and joy. They are our little fluffy family members, which have their own unique personalities and show us unwavering love and loyalty.
After giving my mum a memorial of our family cat, Pumpkin, I realised this was something I wanted to offer to owners, so they could have something extremely special to commemorate their pet.
If you are looking for your own pet portrait or would like to gift one to a loved one, you can find out more on the 'How To Book' and 'Terms and Conditions Page'. If you would like to book, please send me a message using the contact form below.
For any questions or would just like to send me a message, I would love to hear from you!
